Lisa Joy is an Emmy Award®-nominated writer, director and producer highly regarded for her genre work across television and film. In 2011, Joy co-founded the production company Kilter Films with Jonathan Nolan. Following the company's phenomenal success with Westworld, Kilter Films signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios in June of 2019. Through this deal, the company launched The Peripheral, the series adaptation of William Gibson’s 2014 sci-fi thriller novel, starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Gary Carr, and Jack Reynor. Additionally, Kilter Films partnered with Bethesda Game Studios to produce the critically acclaimed television series Fallout, based on the worldwide best-selling video game franchise, starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins. Joy produced the series, while Jonathan Nolan both directed and produced. Joy is the co-creator, co-showrunner, executive producer and episodic director of HBO's Westworld, which aired its fourth season in 2022. Westworld was the most-watched first season of an HBO original series ever and amassed 54 Emmy® nominations, along with SAG, DGA, WGA and PGA nominations. In film, she made her feature directorial debut, Reminiscence, starring Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson, for Warner Bros. Pictures. Joy wrote the script, which landed on The Black List, and produced the film with Kilter Films’ Jonathan Nolan and Athena Wickham, Michael De Luca, and Aaron Ryder.
